What is JargonJam?
JargonJam is a community-powered dictionary focused on documenting modern language, including slang, internet terminology, and emerging expressions that might not be found in traditional dictionaries.
How do I submit a new word or definition?
Click on the 'Add New' button in the navigation menu or visit the submission page directly. You'll need to provide the term, definition, and an example of how it's used in context.
How are definitions ranked?
Definitions are ranked based on community votes. The definition with the most upvotes (minus downvotes) appears at the top of the page.
Can I edit my submitted definition?
Currently, definitions cannot be edited after submission to maintain the integrity of the voting system. If you need to correct or update a definition, you can submit a new one.
Why was my submission rejected?
Submissions may be rejected if they violate our community guidelines. This includes content that is offensive, spam, completely made up, or duplicates an existing definition without adding new information.
How can I report inappropriate content?
Each definition has a report button that you can use to flag content that violates our guidelines. Our moderation team reviews all reports.
Are there any restrictions on what words I can define?
While we embrace slang and informal language, we do have community guidelines that prohibit hateful speech, personal attacks, and other harmful content.
